As you may already know from our social media posts, The TEA Proposal and the Student Bar Association (SBA) of the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona hosted an in-person law student shadowing event on March 16th, 2022. Of course, this event would not be possible without the help of Rachel R. (President of SBA at the time), the law student volunteers, the undergraduate student volunteers, the law school staff, and the presenters. Thank you so much to all of our supporters and everyone who made this event possible! We are grateful for all of your help!

Our Law Student Shadowing Event has been our most anticipated event yet–from both us and our Arizona high school students! We have been talking about this event since the conception of TEA way back in December of 2020 and are so happy that we have finally been able to bring this event into reality. As such, this event meant a lot to us and we hope that it was a valuable experience for all of the students who participated :)

During the event, the high school students were able to attend law school classes (i.e. Constitutional Law Class I), partake in the Program in Criminal Law and Policy (PCLP) Speaker Series (where they learned about the issue of mass incarceration in the U.S.), participate in a Q & A session with UArizona Law School students, and tour the UArizona Law School and Law School Library. Students were also provided lunch. All of these activities were carefully chosen with the intent of allowing the high school students insight into the daily life of a law school student. Students were really excited and engaged throughout the entire day, and particularly enjoyed the law student Q & A session! We were so glad to see that the students were able to gain valuable insight into law and law school, and we hope to continue this event in the future to help benefit more of our high school students!

Finally, thank you to all the high school students who attended this event! We hope that you enjoyed the event as much as we did :)

Once again, a huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped, the presenters, Rachel R., and the SBA! This event would not have been possible without you!!
